After a great success in Charleville-Mézières (91-64), Basket Landes confirmed its good start to the season by dominating Bourges, one of the favorites for the title, in its overheated lair of François-Mitterrand this Saturday (68-55) . Despite the absence of their flagship recruit, the pivot Kariata Diaby, MVP of the LFB finals last year with Villeneuve-d’Ascq, Bourges gave the Landaises a hard time. Julie Barennes’ players only made the difference in the last quarter, after thirty fierce minutes.
The Landes technician was expecting a big fight, and there was no shortage of it. The first minutes are tough, the defenses take precedence over the attacks. This is evidenced by the score: only 6-6 after six minutes of play. After a first three points from Berruyère captain Artemis Spanou, the two teams began to adjust their sights and the Tango took a slight lead at the end of the first quarter (19 -20, 10e).

First by Luisa Geiselsöder, with an off-balance three-point shot (54-47, 32e), before Destiny Slocum then Lacan accentuate the advantage (58-47, 34e). The players of the blue and white club continue their work of undermining in defense to maintain their advantage (68-55, 40e) and record a precious success to definitively launch its season.
