Lando Norris will have given everything until the end of the 2024 Formula 1 season but the McLaren driver will not have succeeded in being champion for the first time in his career. He was beaten by Max Verstappen, who bagged his fourth title in a row, and he had to settle for second place in the drivers' standings. But the British driver still had a very big season, bringing a constructors' title to McLaren with his teammate Oscar Piastri. While the drivers are currently resting, Norris spoke, in comments transcribed by Motorsport.com, and he looked back on his 2024 season. He also announced the colors for 2025, now believing he can be champion.
Norris announces the color for 2025
“Honestly, it's probably in the most difficult moments that you learn the most. But these difficult moments, my battles with Max, or other moments throughout the season, if I come back to Austria , Silverstone… There have just been a few along the way and some for different reasons, but… None of them made me doubt myself People, from the outside, n. have no idea what to do and those moments when you have to accept losing a battle And that's what happened. [avec le championnat pilotes]. And it's because of our situation in the first six or seven races of the year. We lost too many points. I was in a position where I couldn't earn as much as I wanted. But I don't use any of that as an excuse. I'm saying I didn't have what it took this season to fight Max and do what I needed to do. But it certainly gave me the feeling that if I improve a little here, a little there, for the first time, I can confidently say I have what it takes [pour être champion]”, confided Norris, very enthusiastic about next season.
