POSITION 1: Senior DCS Engineer
Tasks and Responsibilities:
The primary duties of the Senior DCS Engineer will be to monitor, maintain and optimize the process plant field instrumentation and automation controlled via Fekola’s Emerson DeltaV DCS system. This includes the various equipment communications protocols involving Allen Bradley DeviceNet and Ethernet/IP motor controls, DuplineSafe conveyor monitoring systems, Profibus devices, and Modbus TCP and Ethernet/IP communications to vendor packages and HMI (Human-Machine Interface).
Reporting to the Senior Control Systems Engineer, the position will be based at the Fekola site in Mali.
Specific Tasks:
-Responsible for the integrity, reliability and operability of the plant’s instrumentation and control designs and installations,
-Ensure that instrument maintenance and calibration are carried out efficiently to optimize plant throughput and recovery,
-Ensure that control loop performance is reviewed regularly and adjusted as necessary.
-Ensure frequent testing of engagement and safety systems,
-Ensure the planning and programming of all instrument-related breakdowns and planned maintenance,
-Analyze instrumentation maintenance schedules to verify accuracy and efficiency and adjust them accordingly,
-Program and maintain Emerson DeltaV DCS, Allen Bradley controllers, Step 7 programming software, Red Lion HMIs and other control devices,
-Resolve technical non-compliance problems and report them,
-Prepare clearly written reports and other documents on required frequencies within required time frames (i.e. work orders, status reports, etc.),
-Assist with weekly planning, execution and control,
-Participate in plant shutdown activities as needed.
-Perform other tasks as needed in support of company objectives.
Job Profile
Skills and Job Requirements:
1-Have a Professional Master’s degree in Instrumentation Engineering or Process Instrumentation or Instrumentation Mechanics;
2-Have a minimum of 5 years of operational experience as a qualified control and instrumentation technician in an automated mineral processing plant environment;
3-Having working knowledge and experience with Emerson DeltaV DCS systems will be very advantageous;
4-Have a practical knowledge of programming software (PLC) and SCADA configuration;
5-Have experience integrating supplier package controls into a factory control system;
6-Have practical knowledge of virtualized environments such as VMWare Workstation and ESXi;
7-Having an understanding of OPC DA, OPC UA, DCOM and KepserverEX would be an asset;
8-Having an understanding of the HART instrument communication protocol is desirable;
9-Be familiar with the administration of Windows Server 2016 and other higher versions as well as Windows 10 Pro and other higher versions,
10-Be flexible to take on a workload that frequently requires an adjustment of priorities.
