A 64-year-old man died on Friday December 27 on a road in Isère after being run over by a car. His son, suspected of being the driver of the vehicle, was arrested in the Paris regionAFP learned on Saturday from the gendarmes.
The sixty-year-old was found “around 8:15 p.m., unconscious in the middle of the road in Charvieu-Chavagneux (Isère). Taken care of by the emergency services, he died on the scene”, they explained to AFP, confirming information from the regional daily Le Dauphiné Libéré. The Bourgoin-Jallieu gendarmerie research brigade and the Grenoble research section were seized, they added.
From a source close to the investigation,hypothesis of a family dispute is favored : the victim had to spend the afternoon with one of his sons, who would have “ejected” his father from his car in motion according to a witness before “dragging him out the door” and roll over him.
Aged around thirtythe suspect was arrested by the national police in the Paris region where he had fled, according to the same source. “Already under investigation”, the victim's son is the target of a homicide investigation which was opened by the Vienna public prosecutor's office, according to The Dauphiné Libéré.
