Lots of glamour, but little overtaking… Racing in the Principality will be there again for the next seven F1 seasons. A new date has been chosen for this iconic race.
It is one of the most glamorous events on the Formula 1 calendar. Often copied, sometimes threatened, but never equaled, the Monaco Grand Prix, the historic F1 event which traditionally takes place in the month of May, extends its lease and will be present until 2031. New: the event will take place at the beginning of June from 2026.
“Formula 1 will continue to race on the streets of Monaco until 2031 inclusive, following a six-year extension of the existing agreement with the Automobile Club of Monaco (ACM), which ran until 2025 season,” the Formula One promoter said in a press release.

Iconic GP
The iconic status of the GP has often saved it: the race is known to be dull, overtaking is rare, and the driver who has won pole position has a good chance of winning. During the last edition held on May 26, the Top 10 established during qualifying remained the same at the finish.
On this occasion, the Monegasque Charles Leclerc won for the first time in “his” national Grand Prix, a victory which had been denied to him since his debut in the elite in 2018. But the place, the stars and the glamor offer a unique setting for the event despite the rivalry of Miami or Las Vegas, the next stage of the world championship where Max Verstappen could be crowned on November 24.
