Didier Deschamps and his men have the opportunity, this Thursday, against Israel, to validate their ticket for the direct elimination phase of the competition.
An important match. The French team has the opportunity, this Thursday evening, against Israel (8:45 p.m.), to validate its ticket for the quarter-finals of the League of Nations. With only two matches remaining in the group stage of the competition, the Blues occupy second place in the standings, one point behind leader Italy and five points ahead of third-placed Belgium. As a reminder, in order to qualify for the knockout phase, you must be among the top two in the group.

Thus, if Didier Deschamps and his men win or draw against Israel – which seems quite likely, at least on paper – they would be assured of reaching the quarter-finals of the League of Nations. But they can also qualify if Belgium does not win against Italy – which is also (largely) possible. Suffice to say that there is a good chance of seeing the Blues reach the knockout phase.
The Blues qualified for the quarter-finals if…:
- France wins against Israel
- France draws against Israel
- Belgium does not win against Italy
