“Formula 1, a world tour of exceptional circuits” is a journey through the spectacular locations of the greatest motorsport competition, a valuable book for all enlightened enthusiasts.
From the legendary streets of Monaco where drivers wind to the uneven bends of Spa-Francorchamps in the Ardennes forest, from the old Silverstone aerodrome to the long straights of the Corniche circuit in Jeddah, this book covers places that are sometimes sublime, sometimes forgotten, but above all full of history.
Imola and the landscapes of the Italian countryside, the 20 kilometer route of the Nürburgring, the unusual Las Vegas circuit in the Caesars Palace parking lot or even the track taking the fortified streets of the old city of Baku… This beautiful book tells us the story of the exceptional circuits that we dream of visiting on five continents.
Anecdotes and statistics
Thus we can find the Corniche in Jeddah, just like the 20 kilometer route of the Nürburgring. For each circuit, a history is present with a look back at their construction, the context of the arrival of F1 on it and anecdotes about the circuit itself or the races which took place there. All obviously sprinkled with essential statistics.
Journalist Emmanuel Touzot dug into the political context or the environment of the circuit. We would have liked to find the routes in the form of a diagram, at least for those still used currently, but that is the only downside of this ideal gift for the holidays to come.
