In 2025, and like in previous years, cycle tourists will pedal and cover thousands of kilometers. Once a cyclo, always a cyclo.
It's a bit of the motto of these enthusiasts of the little queen, whether it rains or it winds, whether it's cold or hot, the scheduled group outings on Wednesdays and especially on Saturdays garner all the votes. The 2025 program is attractive, there will be something for everyone, depending on their current form, their availability, their age.
Always departing from Quatre-Chemins, at 1:30 p.m., in Laroque d'Olmes (at 8 a.m. in June, July and August), the outings are structured around the profiles of the road depending on the seasons (flats, descents, coasts, passes, distances). At least three routes are offered, cyclists have the choice of pedaling with the sporty pace group, or the truly “cyclic” one, or even the “quiet” one.
More than 150 weekly routes are already detailed on roads between Ariège and Aude that most know by heart. A document specifies the essential safety rules to be observed, primarily those of respecting the highway code, but also the reactions to be had in the event of an accident.
In addition to the Wednesday and Saturday outings, it is proposed to simply “leisure” cycle, with the Cyclo Cool group, on Thursdays, at 1:30 p.m. (at 8:330 a.m. in July and August), departing from different locations , at Quatre-Chemins, at Laroque d'Olmes, at the entrance to the greenway, at Lavelanet, at the Saint-Quentin-la-Tour and Lieurac car park, and at the old station, at Mirepoix.
