Between the different circuits inland, by the sea and along the Rance, the EV4, the Vélo maritime between Saint-Malo and Mont-Saint-Michel, there is plenty to pedal for cycle tourists who opt for the Destination “Cap Fréhel – Saint-Malo – Baie du Mont-Saint-Michel” in particular those, more and more numerous, who take the route linking , Dinan, Dinard and Saint-Malo, one of the most popular Breton cycle routes. frequented!

But to satisfy these cycle tourists, who are growing in number each year, it is necessary to develop catering and overnight accommodation offers.

A new call for projects

Also, at the end of May 2024, the Destination “Cap Fréhel – Saint-Malo – Baie du Mont-Saint-Michel” and the five intermunicipalities that make it up launched a first Call for Projects aimed at accompanying and supporting rehabilitation and renovation projects. so-called “heavy” of existing buildings with a view to developing an overnight accommodation offer for cycle tourists.

The second Call for Projects which has just been launched with the Region targets the creation/acquisition of light leisure accommodation, the light renovation of existing buildings in order to offer overnight accommodation (works second work), the improvement/adaptation of existing overnight accommodation in order to integrate transitions and the variation of one of the worlds of the itinerary to promote immersion in the territory.

Submission of application files until December 20, 2024

The winners of the call for projects will benefit from financial support in the form of a grant on investments relating to the project. The 50% grant is capped at €25,000 and a minimum investment of €10,000 is required. The winner must use the services of an architect or interior decorator to be supported in the variation of one of the worlds of the itinerary within the accommodation, a condition for benefiting from the subsidy. This service is included in the eligible expenses of the project.

To be eligible, projects must be located within the perimeter of the Destination, less than 5 km from the cycle route linking Rennes to Saint-Malo, and/or less than 1 km from a cycle loop or cycle link. tourism attached to the route and respect the town planning regulations in force, in consistency with the Local Urban Planning Plan (PLU) and Local Intermunicipal Urban Planning Plan (PLUI).

The completed application form must be returned by November 1st. It is available for download from the websites of the agglomeration communities and municipalities concerned, and from tourist offices. Eligible candidates will subsequently be given the application file which will be submitted by December 20.
