Very talented runner, Max Poole was looking forward to raising his arms for the first time in his professional career. It was on October 1 that great happiness arrived for the 21-year-old Briton, who made the 3rd stage of the PETRONAS Le Tour de Langkawi. At Cameron Highlands, the runner of the Team dsm-firmenich PostNL used his burst of speed and physical superiority to sprint a group of eleven runners who had formed in the last difficulty of the day. Having scored a double blow since he is the new leader of the race, Max Poole spoke about this beautiful day with his team.

“Super happy to have won my first professional victory”

“It was really the only opportunity for climbers here. I have a really good group of people around me, we made a good plan and knew we had to be patient and wait until the last kilometer of the climb to do damage. We worked well as a trio. (he managed to go out with two runners fromAstana Qazaqstan Teamin this case Harold Martin Lopez et Anthon Charmingeditor’s note)but the group behind returned. There were teams that had multiple guys, so I just had to choose the right wheel. I’ve had some pretty good sprints in recent months, so I had confidence in myself. I’m super happy to have won my first professional victory. The guys did a great job today (Tuesday), so thanks to them too.”concludes the one we expect very highly from stage races in the coming years.
