Mr. Bourita inaugurates the consular section of the Moroccan embassy

As part of the policy of proximity and commitment towards Moroccans around the world as desired by His Majesty King Mohammed VI, May God assist him, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccans residing in Foreigner, Nasser Bourita, inaugurated, Tuesday in Washington, the new consular section of the Moroccan embassy in the American federal capital, after major renovation work.

This renovation is part of a resolute vision aimed at offering a modern, efficient consular service that meets the needs of Moroccans residing in the United States as closely as possible.

“Improving consular services is one of the Kingdom’s priorities in order to meet the growing expectations of the Moroccan community in terms of consular effectiveness, speed and efficiency,” underlined the minister on this occasion.

The listed building, which now houses the renovated consular section, has been extensively modernized, with a complete upgrade of its infrastructure and facilities. These improvements include the adoption of the latest information and communication technologies to speed up the issuance of administrative documents such as passports and national identity cards, thus ensuring faster and smoother processing of files.

At the same time, particular emphasis was placed on the user experience, with the creation of a modern reception area, an equipped waiting room, in order to offer visitors an environment that is both welcoming and functional.

This opening also marks an important step before the upcoming inauguration of a new Consulate General of the Kingdom in Miami, Florida, which will further strengthen the Moroccan consular presence in the United States and ensure an even more accessible local service to Moroccan citizens residing in this region of the American southeast, and its surroundings.

“Regardless of the different consular districts of Morocco in the United States, Moroccan nationals are invited to go to the consulate or consular service of their choice where they will be welcomed and assisted with all the services requested,” we would like to specify. from the Moroccan Embassy in Washington.

Thanks to this policy, the Embassy of the Kingdom in the federal capital of the United States is further strengthening its own capacities for the benefit of a consular service that fully meets the expectations of the large Moroccan community and the values ​​of proximity and solidarity that unites them wherever they are.
