After the time trial on Monday, achieved a new hat-trick in the men’s C4 category of the world paracycling championships this Thursday in Zurich, also taking the podium in the road race.

Costa Rican Gatien Le Rousseau, Mattis Lebeau and Kévin Le Cunff finished the race in that order after escaping in threes, before crossing the finish line together.

“Mattis and Kévin were the strongest, it was nice of them to let me win. We proved that in C4, France was the strongest nation,” reacted Le Rousseau, fourth at the Paralympic Games where the C4 and C5 categories were mixed. Monday on the time trial, it was Lebeau who was ahead of Le Cunff and Le Rousseau.

Silver medalist in Glasgow in 2023 in the time trial, 3rd in the same event in Zurich, the 21-year-old Costa Rican thus won his first world title on the road, a few weeks after a successful Paralympic Games. He had already been crowned world champion, but on the track in Rio (Brazil).
