Public Health France, amid general indifference, it must be said, has already been indicating for several weeks an intensification of the circulation of Covid in France.
The Grand Est, like other regions, is concerned. The Grand Est sentinel network site clearly shows that the region has gone from green to yellow, or even orange for the north of Meurthe-et-Moselle since the end of September 2024 for Acute Respiratory Infections (ARI): Covid-19 , influenza and other respiratory viruses.
The Public Health France bulletin of October 2 reports “at the wastewater level of an upward trend in the level of circulation of SARS-COV-2 which continues.”
A trend, which the CHRU of Nancy confirms to us: “Currently, there are 5 to 6 visits per day to the emergency room. Less than 50% of these cases are hospitalized but they are not serious cases.”
Public Health France points to a more marked increase among seniors. In the week of September 23 to 29, it indicates that the activity of the SOS Médecins associations is stable with a decrease in interventions among those under 15 and an increase among those over 15, including + 22% of SOS Médecins consultations. for suspected Covid-19 in those over 75.
During this same period, hospitalizations after a visit to the emergency room at the national level increased by 2.1% compared to previous weeks. “Among hospitalizations in the intensive care unit after going to the emergency room, 34 were for COVID-19/suspected COVID-19 in W39, or 1.4%.“
The adoption of barrier gestures remains an effective way to protect yourself from a respiratory infection and its complications and limit the risk of transmission to those around you and particularly to vulnerable people: wearing a mask in the event of symptoms and washing your hands. Regular hands are then recommended.
The vaccination campaign targeting in particular people aged 65 and over as well as people at risk of serious illness will begin on October 15, 2024.
