The fire was also put out to three electric bikes or scooters. But the firefighters also had to intervene for 53 other fires in trash cans, containers, trees or brush, according to details communicated by the spokesperson for the Brussels firefighters, Walter Derieuw.
Firefighters deplore the fact that law enforcement officers also had to intervene to secure their teams on the ground against troublemakers on New Year’s Eve.
The spokesperson recalls that routine interventions remain assured, including a presence during the New Year fireworks which brought together 50,000 people at the foot of the Atomium, on the Heysel plateau, or even for building fires. .
