A “way to digest what happened” but also to raise awareness. In a message published on her social networks this Monday, actress Gal Gadot, known in particular for having played “Wonder Woman” on screen, spoke about her last pregnancy and the birth of her fourth daughter Ori, in March 2024.
“In February, during my eighth month of pregnancy, I was diagnosed with a huge blood clot in my brain,” she says. For weeks, I endured excruciating migraines that left me bedridden until an MRI revealed the terrifying truth.”
“We rushed to the hospital and a few hours later I underwent emergency surgery. My daughter, Ori, was born during this moment of uncertainty and fear,” she continues.
A first name which was not chosen by chance, underlines the actress born in Israel. Indeed, Ori in Hebrew means “light”. “Before the operation, I told Jaron that when our daughter was here, she would be the light waiting for me at the end of the tunnel,” she confides.
Gal Gadot has been married to Jaron Varsano since 2008. They are already parents to three daughters, Alma, Maya and Daniella.
“At that moment, my family and I were confronted with the fragility of life,” she recalls, calling it “a stark reminder of how quickly everything can change.” And added: “In the middle of a difficult year, all I wanted to do was hold on and live.”
Since then, Gal Gadot says she is “fully healed” and “filled with gratitude”, thanking in particular the hospital staff who accompanied her. The mother then decided to share this personal story with the aim of prevention. “It is vital to listen to our bodies and believe in what they tell us,” assures the young woman. Pain, discomfort or even slight changes are often indicative of a deeper cause.”
And to hope: “If at least one person feels compelled to do something for their health because of my story, then it will have been worth sharing.”
