He had over forty years of career in film and television. Angus MacInnes died ten days ago at the age of 77, as his family sadly announced via his official page on Facebook: “To all his fans around the world, we write this with broken hearts: Angus MacInnes, beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, friend and actor, passed away on December 23, 2024. He left us peacefully , surrounded by family and love“.

Born in Windsor, Ontario, the Canadian actor began his career with science fiction in an episode of season 2 of the series Cosmos 1999. He was also known for having played, the same year, the spaceship pilot Jon “Dutch” Vander, also called the “Gold Leader” in the cult film Star Warsthe first of the legendary saga, which was renamed Star Wars: Episode IV: A New Hope in 1981. It was one of his very first roles. The actor came full circle in 2016, the year of his last appearance on the big screen, in the film… Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, which used footage filmed during the filming of Episode IV, to which Angus MacInnes lent his voice. “His work touched countless people, and he took great pride in being part of these stories that continue to resonate across the world.
