Series fans know James Denton thanks to his portrayal of Mike Delfino in Desperate Housewivesand that of Sam Radford in Good Witch (A Hint of Magic in VF) alongside Catherine Bell. In early 2024, his French fans got a wider glimpse of his talents by seeing him participate in Dancing with the stars on TF1, a program in which he stayed for six weeks. Candice Pascal’s stage partner, eager to offer quality performances, trained for several months. Problem is, he was injured before the dance competition could even begin. Results: a muscle tear. James Denton was injured in Dancing with the stars : “Both my knees are completely destroyed”
At the microphone of Breanne L. Heldman, a journalist from People who organized this event, James Denton spoke at length about the after-effects of his injury and the state of his joints after such intensive sports training. “It was a great adventure, but both my knees are completely destroyed”he lamented, before specifying that he “still paid” his participation in Dancing with the stars. “I’m still trying to get over it.”continued the one that romantic comedy fans were able to see in the TV movie Three Christmases at home. In the spring, the actor gave an exclusive interview to Parisian during which he explained that “[s]an injury requires[ait] normally a long recovery time”. “I alternated between doctors, physiotherapists, osteopaths… who told me that I would have to wait a few months before really healing”he summarized. Unfortunately, time has not (yet) done its work, since he continues to suffer physically. “But it was really fun and the people were really nice”he concluded during the round table.
James Denton encouraged to participate in Dancing with the stars by Teri Hatcher
In February 2024, James Denton gave an interview to Leisure TV. He revealed to us that he had, at first, refused to participate in Dancing with the stars : “The production had already offered it to me, but I refused because, not knowing how to dance at all, I didn’t want to seem like an idiot.” Finally, Teri Hatcher, his partner in Desperate Housewives and the casting of Mask Singer in 2022 on TF1, encouraged him to change his mind : “When I told her I was thinking about the offer, she told me to go for it.”
