The Mysteries of the Duchess : What fiction is about with Lorie Pester rebroadcast this Wednesday January 1, 2025
Who killed Cyril Le Goff, the attractive doctor in the castle garden with an iron bar? Is it his wife Duchess Louise de Crémier, 32 years his senior? Or the only daughter, Estelle de Crémier? What are Serge, the steward, hiding; Pierre Gomez, the gardener; Georges, the mayor; Madeleine, the doctor… There is no shortage of suspects in this open-air Cluedo-style mystery. To lead the investigation, gendarmerie captain Maud Artuis (Lorie Pester), widowed and eight months pregnant, collaborates with Lucien Labeguerri, a former crime cop who has converted to a private detective. Here is the duo confronted with this thorny puzzle within high society: who could have wanted the death of the duchess’s husband? Love at first sight between this notable and the attractive sophrologist practicing shamanism, and their express marriage, on the sly, a very short year after their meeting, had caused talk in the village. The victim had not only alienated his in-laws, but also the mayor, his wife and the community of hunters, to whom he had closed the 300 hectares of land on the estate.
The Mysteries of the Duchess: Should we watch the TV movie with Lorie Pester broadcast this Wednesday January 1, 2025? Our opinion
Regular readers of detective novels and television films know this well: the assassins have little originality in terms of motive: we come back to the same fundamentals, money and love. This affair is about wealth, where from the opulent mansion to the vintage cars, the couple’s fortune turned heads. Feelings are also at issue in this story which spans several generations, with family secrets. But also through the lovely bond that Maud, the experienced investigator who intends to solve this case before giving birth to her child, and Lucien, a traumatized former police officer who takes devoted care of his mother suffering from Alzheimer’s and will be reborn to his contact. Seasoned to the demanding pace of daily soap operas (Tomorrow belongs to uset Such a big sun)Lorie Pester and Jérémy Banster are convincing and guide the viewer along the tracks. We take part with pleasure in this fun treasure hunt, punctuated with little touches of humor, in which the spectator, as if taking part in a Murder Party, goes from one suspect to another while looking for the key to the mystery.
