A trial for attempted extortion
The mystery surrounding Michael Schumacher’s health unfortunately fuels envy. In mid-December 2024, a trial for “alleged attempted extortion” targeting the family of the seven-time world champion opened near Düsseldorf. Three men are accused of trying to extract 15 million euros from the Schumacher family. At the heart of this sordid affair, two hard drives containing images and videos of the pilot in his hospital bed. The main accused allegedly threatened to publish these sensitive documents, as well as health reports, if his financial demands were not met. The verdict will be delivered in spring 2025.
A fiercely protected privacy
Faced with these threats and incessant speculation, the Schumacher family has chosen to remain silent. A position assumed by Felix Damm, the lawyer who has advised the clan for 15 years: “Privacy protection must apply to my client“.
