Formula 1 | changes to 2025: an update on the teams and drivers involved

One thing is certain: 2025 is a very big year of upheaval in terms of drivers entered in the Formula 1 world championship.

There are a lot of duo changes, for almost all the teams, in order to lay new foundations before the other big upheaval to come, that of the 2026 rules. There are only McLaren and Aston Martin F1 which retain the same duo!

And for many other teams, one thing is certain, it is the ideal year according to them to launch young drivers. Isack Hadjar, Jack Doohan, Oliver Bearman, Gabriel Bortoleto and Andrea Kimi Antonelli will have their chances, while Liam Lawson received a nice promotion to Red Bull Racing in place of Sergio Perez after barely a dozen races.

Also expect everyone to finally call Red Bull's 2nd team the same thing, namely Racing Bulls. According to the media, according to the countries, according to television even, it went from RB to Visa Cash App RB F1 Team, with almost all the variants (VCARB, RB F1, etc.).

The Italian team recognized its error, although it was so obvious from the announcement, by clearly proclaiming itself “Racing Bulls”.

The numbers of the five new full-time drivers on the grid are also known. Sauber newcomer Gabriel Bortoleto will use the number 5, as previously used by Sebastian Vettel. Alpine F1 driver Jack Doohan will wear number 7, which was Kimi Raikkonen's number until 2021.

Mercedes driver Andrea Kimi Antonelli chose the number 12, last used by Felipe Nasr in 2016. Haas F1 driver Oliver Bearman will race under the number 87, which was not used for a round of the championship F1 world since Red Amick competed in the 1959 Indianapolis 500 with this number.

Finally Isack Hadjar, the 3rd Frenchman on the starting grid, chose number 6, which was previously used in F1 by Nico Rosberg then Nicholas Latifi.
