TELEVISION – The small screen loses one of its American stars. Actor Wayne Northrop, known for his roles in the series Dynasty et Days of our livesdied at the age of 77 on November 29. It was his wife, actress Lynn Herring Northrop, who announced the sad news in a press release on Sunday, December 1.

“Wayne was diagnosed with early Alzheimer’s six years ago. He took his last breath in the arms of his family.”wrote his wife. The actor died in Los Angeles, at the Motion Picture and Television Woodland Hills Home, a charitable-funded nursing home for members of the American film and television industry.

Originally from Washington on the West Coast, Wayne Northrop became known for his role as Michael Culhane on the hit ABC soap opera, Dynastyin 1981. For 35 episodes, he played the charming and mysterious driver of the wealthy Blake Carrington, played by John Forsythe.

He then starred in one of the longest-running American television series, Days and livesbroadcast on the channel NBC. Wayne Northrop played two characters in different seasons. From 1981 to 1984, and then again ten years later, from 1991 to 1994, he played the role of Detective Roman Brady. In 2005 and 2006, he then played the manipulative Dr. Alex North.

Wayne Northrop also worked with his wife on the soap opera Port Charlesspin-off of the medical soap Central Hospital. He played a villain, Rex Stanton, from 1997 to 1998. Announcing his death, Lynn Herring Northrop paid tribute to him: “Wayne touched so many people with his sense of humor and quick wit. He was a husband for 43 years, the best father ever to his two boys, Hank and Grady, and a rancher who loved his cows and was a friend to many.”.
