In fact, only the presence of Princess Benedikte had been announced, who ultimately came in the company of Queen Anne-Marie of Greece. Without forgetting that of their older sister, of course, Queen Margrethe, who worked on this 6e edition of this Christmas classic. Known for her artistic talents – and her taste for furs – we owe her the scenography and costumes of this revisited version which takes place in…Tivoli in 1874.

A few meters behind his great-aunts, Count Felix de Monpezat displays a shy smile. Prince's second son Joachim, 22, looks great in his gray suit and long black coat. A third-year student in international trade and maritime transport at the Copenhagen Business School, he would not have missed this premiere which honors his grandmother for anything.

More surprising, this other royal personality who slipped into the middle of an impromptu family reunion. Queen Sonja of Norway, dressed all in black, also made the trip for the occasion. Proof, if any were needed, of the strong ties that unite the two kingdoms, but above all the wife of King Harald V to the artist-queen. Taking to the stage alongside the dancers and receiving a standing ovation, the 84-year-old former sovereign is far from having retired.
