Michael J. Fox made an appearance on stage at Coldplay’s Glastonbury Festival concert on Saturday, where he played guitar on the song “Fix You” to cheers from the audience.

An unforgettable moment. Back at the Glastonbury festival where he made his debut in 1999, and where he had not set foot since 2016, the members of the group Coldplay invited Michael J. Fox to join them on stage during their performance, this Saturday, June 29. The 63-year-old comedian, who has suffered from Parkinson’s disease since 1991, showed up in a wheelchair to perform the hit “Fix You” with Chris Martin and the rest of the group. A moment immortalized in a video shared by the American site Variety.

“The main reason we’re in a band is because we saw ‘Back to the Future,’” Coldplay frontman Chris Martin told a cheering crowd. “So thank you Michael, our hero,” he continued. “With his Chuck Berry solo and the way he hit Biff (a character in the film, editor’s note), ladies and gentlemen, please welcome Michael J. Fox to the stage,” he shouted as the actor presented himself on stage.

During their performance, the band brought in a number of guests on stage, including rapper Little Simz and singer Victoria Canal. Coldplay have become legends of the Glastonbury Festival since their first performance in 1999, before returning three years later to replace The Strokes at the last minute as the main band. Chris Martin and his band had returned in 2005, 2011, and 2016.
