Sara Mortensen operated on a dozen times: “The rehabilitation sessions were of no use”

Sara Mortensen’s life was turned upside down at the age of 4. The actress – who can be seen this Friday, June 28 in Perfect Crimes (France 3) – was the victim of a domestic accident which left him with after-effects.

Sara Mortensen’s life changed at age 4

It was in 2007 that Sara Mortensen’s career began. She made an appearance in the series Paris, criminal investigations. Subsequently, the public was able to find it in Gears (2008), Women of the law (2009) or even The day everything changed (2011). But we can say that her notoriety exploded thanks to the role of Coralie, in More beautiful life. A character that she played from 2012 to 2019. Viewers were also able to see her in Astrid and Raphaëlle (since 2019) and tonight, it’s in Perfect Crimes that we will find her again. A very fulfilling career.

However, originally, Sara Mortensen did not think of launching into comedy. During his portrait for Release (in 2021), she admitted that she was seeing herself “head pediatrician“. Unfortunately, she knew the hospital world only too well. Because of a domestic accident, she almost lost her left eye when she was 4 years old. So she was operated on a dozen times and had to follow”countless rehabilitation sessions that were useless“. And for good reason, she never fully regained her sight.

This difference earned Sara Mortensen a lot of teasing at school. “You can imagine that a child with an eye like that, constantly wearing eye covers and glasses, attracts comments and mockery.“, she explained to our colleagues. Since then, she has “accustomed” to her handicap and is even proud of it. “I see colors no one else sees, the sunsets are crazy“, she continued.

A great support

But at the time, the 44-year-old actress was able to count on the support of her parents. Her mom and dad allowed her to do activities not recommended by doctors, such as cycling. They also accepted that she join a circus school, despite “the prognosis of lack of balance“. Choices which undoubtedly allowed him to realize his dreams.
