Ron Simons, real name Ronald Keith Simons, was an American actor and producer recognized for his roles as well as the plays he produced. He died on June 12 at age 63.

His production company, Simon Says Entertainment, announced the sad news on Facebook: “It is with heavy hearts that we share the unexpected passing of our beloved, blessed and much-loved friend, Ronald Keith Simons.” The causes of his death have not yet been revealed.

Ron Simons studied marketing and international business. He started his career as a product manager at Microsoft. It wasn’t until he was 39 that he decided to pursue his dream of becoming an actor. He earned a master’s degree in fine arts and moved to New York, becoming a member of the Classical Theater of Harlem company. He got his start there and starred in series like “The Defenders,” “Daredevil,” “New York City” and “The Resident.” In the cinema, he appeared notably in the comedy “27 Robes”.

However, he ultimately chose to end his acting career to start his own production company. In 2012, he began producing plays which met with great success. His co-productions earned him four Tony Awards for “Porgy and Bess,” “A Gentleman’s Guide to Love and Murder,” “Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike” and “Jitney.” A very beautiful course.
