On the occasion of the 40th anniversary of Canal+, Antoine de Caunes looked back on some of his great memories, including his improbable hip swing with the American star.
This Monday, November 4, Canal+ is celebrating its 40th anniversary. The encrypted channel broadcasts a special evening to celebrate this anniversary from 9 p.m. called “40” and presented by Antoine de Caunes .
The host will present, from the Folies Bergère stage, a retrospective of the highlights which have marked the history of the channel from 1984 to today and will alternate between tapes and live. The one who spent his entire career or almost on the encrypted channel – he notably presented “Le Grand Journal” from 2013 to 2015 – returned, in a video on the great moments which marked the latter.

He thus remembered the coming of Taylor Swift on the set of “Grand Journal” just ten years ago, on October 6, 2014. Impromptu, he swayed alongside the American star to the sound of his hit Shake it off . “Little Taylor Swift, I think that kicked off her career. There is Taylor Swift before and Taylor Swift after »he says with humor when watching the video in question again.
As the images scroll, showing him doing a twist and uncontrolled arm movements, he details this moment: “She invited me to come and dance with her. Well yes, I love dancing. As you see, I am a born dancer, I have a kind of natural rhythm in my blood, a lot of flexibility. We had a lot of fun », he continues, bursting out laughing.

The journalist then asks him again: “A moment like that, is it anticipated, is it planned? » « Nonhe replies. That's the whole point of live. Live, you work on a framework, everything has to be precise, planned and then there is always the unexpected that arises: there, she, who invites me to come and meet her to dance, I go. I'm not going to say “no, that wasn't planned”. On the contrary, I am very much a customer of that. » At the end of the sequence, Taylor Swift hugs Antoine de Caunes who returns to his place, happy and out of breath.
An essential souvenir for the presenter of the show at the time. ““Le Grand journal” was the natural son of “Nulle part autre”. We were in the same format, the same broadcast schedule and the same principle of the talk show, that is to say this table with people talking and then the show which emerges like there with Taylor Swift.concludes Antoine de Caunes.
