It's not easy to say that we've gotten used to his voice as he has the ability to change it, but one thing is certain, by performing a few weeks ago his fourteenth entry into the satirical show bearing his name on TF1, Nicolas Canteloup proved that he had become a television figure with exceptional longevity. Next year, it will be 30 years since the comedian made his debut on the small screen in the Guignols of the Info. Since then, from Michel Drucker's red sofa in Roll on Sunday on TF1's daily newscast, he never stopped lampooning the political world thanks to his talents as an imitator.
But keeping up the pace on TV is not given to everyone, even more so when, like Nicolas Canteloup, you work on the side, either on shows or on the radio as he did for a long time on Europe 1a station that he left 3 years ago, not without turmoil… To succeed, you have to stick to a severe discipline and rigorous work.
In 2014, Anouk's dad, a champion like him, recounted a typical day to TV Star. And she is worthy of a marathon runner! Lever “early” since at 6 a.m., a taxi picked him up from his home in Yvelines to take him to Europe 1. In the car, he listened to Thomas Sotto's newspaper then, once he arrived at the station, finalized his column with its authors. At 8:42 a.m., he went on air to unroll his “Almost Review”. As soon as he finished his show, shortly before 9 a.m., he headed to Boulogne and the TF1 studios to prepare his evening show until 1 p.m. “Then we record, until about 4 p.m. Then I jump in a taxi and go home“ he explained. His day wasn't over yet. At 8 p.m., he had a meeting to prepare the next day's columns with his authors. Preparatory work which could require numerous back and forths, depending on the ideas of each person, until the time arrived. to sleep : “quite early” toorecognized Canteloup.
Nicolas Canteloup follows a very particular diet which would allow him to clean up his health
Nicolas Canteloup could also maintain this program because he is a high-level athlete. If everyone knows his passion for horse riding, sport that he practices daily at the end of the afternoon since he was very young, many are probably unaware that he is a crack in his discipline. A graduate of the Saumur national school, in 2016, he was crowned vice-champion of France major for over 40s in the eventing category. A sport that does not go without causing big scares for him…
To stay at the top of his form, this great sportsman has his own method, which he confided in the show Daily on September 23: he follows an unconventional diet and only eat once a day, in the evening. This practice, which he has adopted for several years, would allow him to “sanitize” and gain energy according to him. He states in particular that he did not “no more post-lunch break” since he stopped eating lunches. “I do this completely self-taught and apparently, this is corroborated by some writings” he explains, specifying that he was tired of doing “a bit of a yo-yo”.
“This diet can be dangerous“, estimates a nutritionist
Already in 2020, in an interview given to Sunday Newspaperthe comedian confided that this diet had radically changed his daily lifein addition to making him lose “7 to 8 kilos” and stabilize your weight. He then detailed: “The evil of our societies is overeating. Cro-Magnon wandered all day and ate in the evening if he caught game. We don't even trek”. By his own admission, this lifestyle is for him “virtuous”especially for the practice of his sport which involves being a lightweight. Nicolas Canteloup added: “At 7 p.m., there’s a party in the village. I don’t have to say to myself: ‘I’m not having sausage’”.
This method, as beneficial as it may be for him, nevertheless divides nutrition experts. In an interview with Health Magazinedietician-nutritionist Samantha Marchesani warns of the dangers of such a diet for the uninitiated : “This prolonged fast that Nicolas Canteloup practices does not suit everyone”she explains. “It depends on each person’s metabolism. For certain people with a pathology, for example, this diet can be dangerous”. According to her, even if some may find personal benefit in it, she remains cautious regarding these methods, which she describes as “miracle” : “Going against the body is not a vector of health. Eating is a physiological need and must remain a pleasure. You must listen to your body and its sensations”.
However, Nicolas Canteloup does not stop there to maintain his shape and well-being. In addition to his strict diet, the comedian, peacefully installed in an upscale town in Yvelines, has another unusual habit: take cold showers. Convinced of the benefits of iced water, he does not hesitate to “refresh” daily in this way. This practice, known to stimulate blood circulation and strengthen the immune system, completes the portrait of a man whose ascetic lifestyle is particularly atypical. In this, the imitator seems inimitable…
