Oops ! This Wednesday, June 5, the French team beat Luxembourg 3-0 during a friendly preparation match for the Euro at the Saint-Symphorien stadium, in Metz. A meeting broadcast live on TF1 and commented by the trio who will also be in place during the competition: Grégoire Margotton, Saber Desfarges, and Bixente Lizarazu. Present on the sidelines in “L’après match” to interview Jonathan Clauss with journalist Thomas Mekhiche, the latter could not contain a burst of laughter after a big blunder by the production.
At the end of the program, the teams had in fact planned a little surprise for the OM defender, by filming his mother, present in the stands of the stadium. “Before you release yourself, look at this image Jonathan, can you tell us who it is?” asks Thomas Mekhiche, addressing the 31-year-old player. “There, who is that? I have no idea” then says the French international after a little hesitation, while the image of a woman in the stands appeared on the screen. A response which provoked a burst of laughter from Bixente Lizarazu.

“Well, it’s simple, we don’t film the same person.“the journalist immediately admitted, while also laughing. Fortunately, the defender then came to their aid, also amused by the situation.”Are you looking for my mother? She’s right there. There you go, raise your hand” he said, pointing to his mother in the stands. The cameraman was then able to find the footballer’s real mother in the stands. “She’s here, she watched ‘After Match’” continued Thomas Mekhiche. “I would have loved for you to see Jonathan Clauss’s eyes looking at the picture and thinking, what are they doing to me?“, he added facing the camera, while Bixente just laughed at the situation.
