Vincent Lindon joins Keanu Reeves and Kirsten Dunst in the cast of “The Entertainment System Is Down” by Ruben Östlund (Unfiltered).

In May 2022, the Cannes jury chaired by Vincent Lindon awarded the Palme d’Or to Swedish director Ruben Östlund for his social satire Without Filter. The filmmaker thus joined the very exclusive club of directors having won 2 Palmes d’Or (the first was for The Square in 2017).

Two years later, when Vincent Lindon presented The Second Act of Quentin Dupieux at the opening of the 77th Cannes Film Festival, the British site ScreenDaily tells us that the French actor is joining the 5-star cast of Ruben Östlund’s next film.

Vincent Lindon will thus share the poster for The Entertainment System Is Down with Keanu Reeves, Kirsten Dunst, Daniel Brühl, Joel Edgerton, Samantha Morton and Nicholas Braun.

Casting is still underway and producers Erik Hemmendorff and Philippe Bober have declared that other renowned actors will soon complete the cast of this new social satire.

After the cruise in Without filter, the action of this new film, recently presented at the Cannes film market, takes place on a long-haul flight. Shortly after takeoff, passengers learn from cabin crew that there will be no entertainment on this flight because the screens no longer work. At first, the batteries of the electronic devices are still sufficiently charged but soon, the passengers find themselves alone with their thoughts.

Filming on Ruben Östlund’s seventh feature film, and his second in the English language, will begin in 2025. The Entertainment System Is Down should come and shake up the Croisette in May 2026…

Currently showing in the Second Act, Vincent Lindon will soon be in the casting of the drama by Delphine & Muriel Coulin, At the height adapted from the novel by Laurent Petitmangin “What you need at night.“The French actor will then join the filming of Gilles Bourdos’ thriller, Solo and will play Jean Valjean in a new adaptation of Les Misérables by Fred Cavayé.
