2024 is a year full of success for Jérémy Petit. Freshly graduated from his physiotherapist course in Spain, the 24-year-old has just been crowned Mister France Normandy. He succeeds Lucas Girard, elected in 2023. Interview with an ambitious dreamer.

Jérémy, what does it mean to wear the Mister France Normandie scarf?

Jeremy Petit : Honestly, the title wasn’t something that attracted me, it was more the adventure that pushed me to sign up. I have just finished my studies, I am in a mood to challenge myself. I had done some modeling in Spain, so I thought “why not?”. But at no time did I claim to obtain the title and present myself as the most handsome man in Normandy.

How did the regional competition go?

Jeremy Petit : The competition team came to pick me up after seeing my videos on social media. Then, there were ten of us on August 31st. We were all different, we came from different places in the region and it was a very cool atmosphere. We got to know each other, we became very good friends. I played a lot of sport when I was young where the mindset was to be “against each other, no friendship during matches”. There, it was very different, friendly, even if we knew that only one of us would win. Afterwards, the night of the competition, I didn’t think I would win until I was called. I even missed a bit of a choreography…

What was the reaction of those around you to this election?

Jeremy Petit : Those around me are very happy for me. He sees me trying and being happy, my parents find it funny, it’s not necessarily expected. There is a disconnect between the title and who I am. Me, I’m not at all presumptuous or imagining that I’m the most beautiful. It especially makes those close to me laugh.

When I was young, I had two passions: sport and theater. I managed to find a job that links me to the first, I now dream of going on stage.

Jérémy Petit, Mister France Normandy

You have a rather atypical life path…

Jeremy Petit : My parents worked a lot in South America. My brother was born in Brazil and I in Argentina, although very quickly, when I was 6 months old, we returned to France. I first lived in then for ten years in Granville until 2016. Afterwards, we settled in . I obtained a Bac S two years later at Sainte-Marie high school. After failing the first year of medicine, I went abroad, to Spain, to train as a physiotherapist. I graduated last July and returned to Normandy, to my parents in Dozulé.

How do you see the future?

Jeremy Petit : Being a physiotherapist is above all a way to make my dreams come true. We all have childhood dreams, a little buried, that we no longer believe. I find it a shame not to watch them anymore because of the routine of life. My childhood dream is to go on stage and do stand-up. For some time now, I have been making videos on TikTok. At first, it was anecdotes about my life in Spain. Little by little, I realized that the way I told stories made people laugh. I only do improv, but I realize that now I have to write more to do more quality work.
