Fight against the rise of far-right ideas and individualism. In full promotion of the book Come let’s talk – written with journalist Elsa Vigoureux – Omar Sy gave his vision of things on the set of the show DailyThursday April 25, as relayed by BFMTV.

He particularly deplores the disappearance of the notions “of justice, equality, fraternity“and calls to be wary of”people who are spewing their hatred and bringing up to date a of the past with well-established ideas“.

We must remember that the people who carried these ideas in the past led France to very, very dark places. I just say be careful because it concerns us allcontinues the actor. It’s up to us to decide what we want. How we want to interact. How we want to be together. How we want to form the group. Because today, we are each talking about ourselves“.

An individualism which is contaminating the political world according to Omar Sy: “In public space, we don’t talk about ourselves, about the individual. We’re talking about the group. But today, the problem is that everyone talks about themselves and we forget the group. Which means that we have individuals who claim to be leaders but are just individuals who are often megalomaniacs. But a leader is the one who takes care of the group“.

These individuals “megalomaniacs“, for the actor, only speak”of those who hurt them, of what bothers them, of what scares them. They speak on behalf of the group just with their own neuroses. This is the problem for me“.”I think we need to wake up to one thing, friends: we have a group to create and not lots of small groups“, he continues.

Omar Sy concludes to the applause of the audience present on the set of Quotidien: “We need to have recess again, friends. Come on, let’s hold hands. We make rounds. It sounds stupid what I’m telling you but I really mean it“.
