At the end of March 2024, nearly 111,800 foreign cross-border workers were active in Geneva, or more than a quarter (28%) of the total cross-border workers who work in Switzerland, reportsCantonal statistics office (OCSTAT).

In the first quarter of 2024, the increase in the number of foreign cross-border workers employed in the canton of Geneva amounts to 5.7%, compared to the previous quarter (data adjusted for seasonal effects).

At the national level, the relative increase in the number of active foreign cross-border workers over the first three months of the year stands at 1.3%, well below Geneva.

Geneva is thus the leading canton to employ foreign cross-border workers.
