This year again, LinkedIn is drawing up its list of booming professions. Based on its data, the social network of professionals has analyzed the job offers published on its site since January 2022 and has drawn up a list of the 20 professions recording the strongest growth in terms of searches and job offers. . But this time, its ranking changes almost completely and sees new trends arriving. Thus, three quarters of the professions displayed in the top, to which 20 Minutes was able to have exclusive access, were not there last year.
Thousands of job offers in one click
But more broadly, this list shows a job market which has changed profoundly in a relatively short time: “40% of the professions present in the document did not exist twenty-five years ago. This development reflects a rapid evolution linked to the challenges of sustainable development, macroeconomic changes and new technologies,” observes Sandrine Chauvin, international executive editorial director of the social network. Steward, customer service manager, software tester or even AI engineer are some of the professions present in this 2025 top.

Quality at the rendezvous
“In an uncertain economic context, professions focused on quality, production and optimization outperform those in sales and represent almost a quarter of the jobs in the ranking,” declares Sandrine Chauvin. Inflation is the primary reason for this unpredictable economic situation. It is therefore logical that the position of quality inspector occupies the first place of the top.
However, this trend is not completely new. Quality-oriented positions are not emerging for the first time. Simply, in the case of LinkedIn, the novelty is found in “the search for optimization of production while preserving a certain quality. Hence the emergence of inspectors in classification trends. »
Tourism in force
The coronavirus pandemic has put a terrible brake on tourism. But once the crisis has passed, the figures gradually return to normal. According to UN Tourism, 790 million tourists traveled abroad in the first six months of 2024. This is only 4% less than pre-covid figures.
“The evolution of professions shows a recovery in the sector,” analyzes Sandrine Chauvin. The arrival of professions such as aeronautical mechanic or steward/flight attendant in the ranking is immediately clearer. Note that this trend is not specific to France: “We observe the same thing in Spain, Italy, Indonesia and Austria. This movement is global,” notes the global editorial executive director of LinkedIn.
The AI, soft and green skills expected at the turning point
Beyond the positions, the ranking gives an overview of the skills expected on the job market in 2025. Without too much surprise, mastery of AI comes first: “AI professions are the most widespread of our world rankings. These positions appear in more than two-thirds of the lists of fast-growing professions and reach first place in the United States, the United Kingdom and even Indonesia. »
Rest assured, we will not all become AI engineers, but “the skills linked to artificial intelligence permeate very different professions”, considers Sandrine Chauvin. “At the same time, customer relations, trust and soft skills are becoming just as central,” she continues. The ranking gives pride of place to these famous “soft skills”, with the presence of the profession of customer service manager or travel advisor. If technology is gaining ground, the same is true for professions where emotional intelligence is essential.
The latest skills in demand are those called “green”: “In France, demand has increased by 15% over the last three years. Like AI, these skills are becoming a prerequisite,” notes Sandrine Chauvin. Here, more than elsewhere in the world: “11% of job offers on LinkedIn France require green skills, or 1.3 times more than the global average,” she continues. Additionally, according to LI's 2024 Green Skills Report, job seekers with green skills experience a 54.6% higher hiring rate than the rest of the workforce.
