Mohammed VI Polytechnic University (UM6P) and SAP Afrique Francophone are strengthening their collaboration by integrating the ERP solution “RISE with SAP”. This agreement, signed during the second edition of GITEX Africa in Marrakech, marks a turning point in the digital strategy in Morocco and Africa.

(Cio Mag) – The adoption of “RISE with SAP” by UM6P is part of a broader approach to modernizing Moroccan and African technological infrastructures. This collaboration between UM6P and SAP Francophone Africa, recently formalized between Hicham El Habti, President of UM6P, and Hicham Iraqi Houssaini, Managing Director of SAP Francophone Africa, illustrates the continued commitment of the two entities to innovation, security of data, and digital sovereignty.

The initiative was announced during the GITEX Africa event and follows the sovereign cloud project launched in June 2023, with the creation of the first cloud service hosted in Morocco by Atlas Cloud Services, a subsidiary of UM6P. This service now hosts the “RISE with SAP” offering, strengthening innovation and data protection capabilities for Moroccan and African companies.

Technological synergy and growth opportunities

This partnership allows UM6P to strengthen its operational efficiency by modernizing its internal processes and improving resource management and user experience. Hicham Iraqi Houssaini of SAP highlighted the importance of this partnership: “We are delighted to collaborate with UM6P to bring our ERP solutions hosted in a sovereign cloud to a greater number of companies in Morocco and Africa. This partnership underlines our commitment to support UM6P and other companies on the continent in this technological revolution by providing them with innovative solutions allowing them to optimize their processes in real time, reduce their operational costs, and increase their performance.”

For his part, Hicham El Habti, president of UM6P, affirms that the collaboration with SAP marks an important step in the University’s mission to support digital transformation in Morocco and Africa. “By combining our advanced sovereign cloud infrastructure with SAP solutions, we have the opportunity to modernize data management through market-leading standards in terms of security, regulatory compliance, scalability and environmental responsibility, in order to accelerate our growth,” he concludes.
