2.3 billion euros were placed on Livret A this year, according to RTL. The Livret A rate, although determined by the French government, is in fact based on a more complex mechanism which considers the evolution of interest rates in the economy. This rate is adjusted twice a year, in January and July, based on two main factors: inflation and interbank market rates.
Today, its rate is 3%. In February 2025, during the next rate review, it could drop to 2.5%, according to the general director of the Caisse des Dépôts (CDC), Eric Lombard. Faced with this decline, here is how much you need to save every year to earn 500 euros.
