On October 10, Orange launched the new version of its 5G+ Home boxwhich allows you to do without traditional wired internet boxes. This solution, which is based on “standalone” 5G (SA) technology, promises theoretical speeds of up to 1 Gbit/swell beyond the performance of non-standalone 5G.
This box uses the mobile network to provide a fast wireless connection without installation work. The model, designed by Nokia, is compatible with the WiFi 6 and can manage up to 64 connected devices simultaneously. Moreover, in the event of a 5G outage, the box automatically switches to Orange’s 4G networkguaranteeing continuity of service.
Installation is simple and no connection is necessary: simply insert a SIM card provided into the box and plug it into the mains to benefit from an immediate connection. Simple, quick and effective.
Orange also includes access to its television services for a supplement of €5 per month. Users can enjoy channels on mobile via the Orange TV app or on their TV with a TV stick or the Orange TV app for Smart TV.
However, it should be noted that the actual performance depends on various factors such as the proximity of the antennas and the number of connected users, 5G coverage still remaining limited in certain regions, it will therefore be necessary to check this point, but rest assured you will have the possibility of testing the service during the first 14 days, and therefore canceling if performance is not up to par.
