Here is the Wi-Fi 7 compatible Livebox 7 that could launch in

While Free dominates the French market with its Wi-Fi 7 boxes, would soon be preparing to retaliate. The historic operator will launch two new Liveboxes equipped with this technology, but first in Spain. A strategy which probably foreshadows the arrival of these new models in .

According to the specialized site BandaAnchaOrange will market two distinct models of Wi-Fi 7 compatible Livebox on the Spanish market from October 17. The first, the Livebox 7 ZTE F6745Qis positioned in the high-end segment with complete support for three frequency bands (2.4 GHz, 5 GHz and 6 GHz). This premium version will have four Ethernet ports, including a 2.5 Gbps high-speed port.

The second model, the Livebox 7 Arcadyanshould target mid-range offerings. Although Wi-Fi 7 compatible, it ignores the 6 GHz bandwhile retaining the same connectivity as its big sister. This strategy is reminiscent of that of Free, which also reserves the 6 GHz band for its Freebox Ultra.

Towards a launch in France after Spain?

It is not uncommon to see Orange experimenting with new offers in other countries before they are adapted for the French market. The new Spanish models also present a notable difference with the current French versions: the abandonment of the e-ink screen in favor of physical buttons.

So when will these boxes arrive in France? If Orange follows its usual pattern, we will probably have to wait until 2025 to see a new Livebox Wi-Fi 7 on the French market. The operator could thus opt for a simultaneous replacement of its Livebox 6 and Livebox 7.

More and more devices are becoming Wi-Fi 7 compatible, whether it’s the recent iPhone 16 or even Sony’s PS5 Pro. As a reminder, Free was the first to offer this technology with its Freebox Ultra, before the new Freebox Pop model was also compatible.

While waiting for the arrival of these new boxes in France, Orange continues to market its current range, ranging from the Livebox 5 (Wi-Fi 5) to more recent models supporting Wi-Fi 6E.
