Key figures for the book sector: 2022-2024

These structures, which serve as an interface between professionals and regional institutions, offer a perspective on the book industry in different territories, covering aspects ranging from the book economy to public reading, and from heritage to creation. .

For the first time, the observations collected by these structures are compiled and shared, presenting data for the year 2022 for fifteen regions and communities, both in mainland and overseas.

Each indicator included in this study reflects the response rate of book stakeholders for whom information was available. Île-de-France, due to a lack of usable data, is excluded from this study with the exception of data concerning libraries.

The results are presented in the form of aggregated data, making it possible to create a map of books and reading in these regions and three overseas territories. However, some particularly notable regional figures are highlighted in the specific sections “ In the region ».
