The new edition of the Beaumont-de-Lomagne Children's Book Fair met all expectations with more than 1,100 young and old, especially students from CE2 to middle school affected by the various activities offered. In the village hall, twelve students from the Lestonnac high school accompanied, throughout the Show, the children coming from the schools of the community of municipalities and guided them towards the different workshops: board games, secret codes organized by Fermat Science , a cartoon workshop by the Beaumont artist Frédérique Nanjod, a “Le Circuit du livre” workshop, by Alix, from la Tartinerie. The “Media Education” workshop was offered by the 82 media library. The stories and tales of the Storytellers in Lomagne enchanted young and old.
Authors invited to the schoolchildren’s meeting
The invited authors, Jean-Christophe Tixier and Sophie Laroche, traveled to meet seven primary classes from the community of communes, two classes from Despeyrous college and two classes from Lestonnac and Norman-Foster high schools. A strong moment to introduce young people to the profession of author. On Saturday morning, Jean-Christophe Tixier shared his passion for writing with a dozen people in a workshop reserved for adults.
Conferences and shows followed
Fifty people attended Alain Cagneti's (ex-police officer) conference on cryptography on Thursday evening. “Treasure Island” by company 9 Thermidor enchanted 370 students at the cinema. Finally, on Saturday, 120 children and adults came to meet the authors for the signings and attend the show: “SOS Doudou”, by the Cie Les Astronambules. The Des Livres et Vous bookstore in Sarrant was present to offer for sale numerous Books, albums on the theme and books by guest authors. The attendance figures show still equal interest in this event; schools are always present and enthusiastic to participate!
A beautiful 2024 edition that young and old will not soon forget.
