Why this book?
- Because this novel marks the end of the Seasons series the first volume of which was published last October. After An autumn to forgive you, A winter to resist you et A spring to succumb to you, Morgane Moncomble features the fourth heroine with a flowery first name: Jasmine. Cousin of Lily and friend of Camelia and Magnolia, she is a wedding planner and remains a mystery to readers until now. Readers will finally discover it after three powerful stories.
- Because the novel features the last season: summer. Indeed, this story takes place during the summer and in Italy. Following the wedding of her two friends, Jasmine accompanies them on what is called a “buddymoon”, a honeymoon that is shared with close friends. For now, it will be with Ezra, the groom’s cousin, and Andréa, Jasmine’s first love. We will quickly become attached to this group of friends as well as their flaws which make them strong and touching.
- Because if this novel is going to be about first love and the desire for a second chance, the story will also feature new feminist themes but also how each person experiences a breakup and the triggering event of the separation. Indeed, following an event which will be revealed little by little, Jasmine and Andréa broke up even though they still loved each other. This trip to Italy will allow them to settle their scores and be able to rebuild their lives. Jasmine is a character who will not leave anyone indifferent and we will be keen to understand her choices.
- Because the landscapes are magnificent. It’s always a pleasure to discover Italy in the middle of summer with its cities and cult places: Rome, Florence and even Venice. I really had the feeling of traveling with the characters and feeling the sun. Morgane Moncomble’s writing is as captivating and addictive as ever. We really want to find out what will happen in the story.
