Monteils. Bernard Perrone opens his workshop

Bernard Perrone, painter and watercolorist, opens the doors of his workshop to visitors who are fans of various pictorial techniques or to those simply curious about original works. Its rich collection of watercolors and oil paintings, in all formats, is part of an artistic pattern painted for around sixty years. On the occasion of these open days, in a time of discovery and exchange, Micheline, his wife, will be able to retrace, in many details, the original journey of each work.

A rich journey

Master of trompe l’oeil for twenty-five years, Bernard Perrone discovered painting thanks to his uncle Pierre Klemczynski, painter. It was in Beauvais, in 1962, on the occasion of an exhibition of the Society of Artists of the Oise, that his painting was distinguished by the award of the silver medal of the salon. Numerous exhibitions followed both in France and abroad. Then with success, the painter evolved into the profession of theater decorator, where he invented new decoration techniques, thus refining his mastery as a colorist and graphic designer. For nearly three decades, Bernard created sets that adorned the stages of national theaters, but also in the United States, working among others for Chagall, Cocteau, Jean-Michel Folon and Leonor Fini.

The workshop

Currently, under the watchful eye of Bernard, the students are working on a series of representations of dogs and their masters. In the inventiveness of these works, various techniques and supports are used by the painters, who will reveal their creative process to you.

The workshop is located at 320 chemin des Chênes. Open days: Saturday June 15 and Sunday June 16, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday June 22 and Sunday June 23, at the same times.
