A Guingampthe François-Mitterrand space (near the town hall) welcomes Skol Diwan Gwengamp and its traditional used book fairfor eleven days.

It takes place in three times: from Friday November 15 to Monday November 18, from Friday November 22 to Monday November 25 and from Friday November 29 to Sunday December 1. All these days, the sale will be open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. (entrance is free).

Four tonnes of sold in 2023

“We are renewing the formula over three weekends, like in 2023, which had been a good year,” indicates Philippe Dollo, parent and member of the Kuzul Skoazell Diwan association, which financially supports the school through actions (book fair, meals, festù-noz, etc.)

For the record, four tonnes of books were sold last year, at a price of €4 per kilo. Which represents the sum of €16,000 donated to the coffers of the Diwan school in Guingamp.

“The book fair is the flagship event for our association. It brings in a little more than 50% of the money collected each year,” specifies the parent.

Wednesday November 6, Philippe Dollo was in the lobby of the Guingamp media library, with Rosalie, another parent, to receive donations from individuals.

Several thousand books were added to the stock available to the association for the eleven days of the fair. “Many are in very good condition,” appreciates the student’s parent.

Books of all genres

For the event, from November 15 to December 1, several tens of thousands of books of all kinds will be offered for sale, at the unchanged price of €4 per kilo.

They will be classified by category (novel, detective, comic strip, history, youth, etc.) and renewed every day. The parents of students, between three and four at all times, will take turns to ensure the shelves are kept clean and man the cash register.

Please note that people who wish can make book donations during the opening hours of the fair.
