At the end of the general assembly on April 29, Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes livre et lecture noted the departure of Emmanuelle Pireyre from her presidency, after six years in office and “investment at the service of the association and the book inter-profession “.
Funded by the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes Region and the Ministry of Culture, via the Regional Directorate of Cultural Affairs, Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes livre et lecture implements cooperation, information, training, advice and promotion in favor of books and reading, by also organizing a place of exchange and reflection prospective.
The new presidency of the association is ensured by Catherine Benod, librarian. She began her library career in 2003, as head of the adolescent sector of the Oullins Municipal Library, in the southwest of Lyon, before 8 years in Conflans-Sainte-Honorine.
In 2018, she returned to Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes as director of the Haute-Loire departmental media library. It was shortly after that that she was elected to the Board of Directors of the association, of which she became a particularly active treasurer from 2021.
