The Chinese weekend of April 27 and 28, 2024 was literary, with the 3e edition of the Book Fair, organized by the Encrier bleu association, chaired by Jean-Paul Robert, at the Rabelais space in Chinon.
The Salon opened its doors on Saturday morning. “Seventy authors responded to our invitation. We are ready, with a very demanding installation, during which the volunteers, whom I thank, formed a very active team. The stress is there, because we want to welcome the writers.” underlines Jean-Paul Robert.
Two intense but mixed days
The official inauguration was a little delayed, pending the arrival of Éric Fouassier, president of the Salon, and author of an opus The Office of Occult Affairs.
After two intense days, the results are mixed. “On the author side, it’s a great satisfaction. Sales were good. Meetings, the animations were a great success despite particularly gloomy weather on Saturday. But good humor and conviviality did the rest”explains the organizer, adding: “A negative side, Yet, spoiled the party. The number of visitors remained below our expectations. We will have to think about it if the adventure continues. »
The theme of this edition, crime fiction, attracted young and old to the gendarmerie stand where criminal identification technicians presented crime scenes. The thriller is always successful.
