A new video from Star Wars: The Acolyte has just leaked, on which we can see a brand new weapon that has never before been shown on screen. But thinking of charming its target, Disney has instead attracted the wrath of its fans.

The sidekickthe divisive Star Wars series

With Star Wars: The AcolyteDisney will try to seduce its audience by placing its story in the era of the High Republic, well before the events of The Phantom Menace, while the Sith threat is not yet on the agenda. A first for Disney which had until then never delved into the past of the saga. We can only salute the big-eared firm for wanting to stretch the universe of the very distant galaxy and free itself from the legacy left by George Lucas. However, the project is worrying. Some see it as just another tasteless series. with weak visual effects and which also risks causing inconsistencies with the prelogy.

Announced for June on Disney+, The Acolyte promises to be a very dark series, “an investigation into a series of shocking crimes pits a respected Jedi Master against a dangerous warrior from his past. As new clues emerge, they embark on a dark path where sinister forces reveal that all is not what it seems…”.

a brand new weapon never seen before in the cinematographic saga

It looks like we can expect a lot of action from the next Star Wars series, the trailers have revealed a slew of Jedi, sabers in hand, a few assassins and what appears to be a Sith. The colors of the sabers have been talked about a lot, just like this new visual which has just been leakedand on which we see a Jedi waving a purple laser whip.

Does this not defeat the purpose of a whip

I don’t feel like it’s a whip, and I don’t know if it is.

Shiny new Gimmick.

Star Wars needs to rest.

A shiny new Gimmick.

Star Wars needs to rest.

Never before have Lucasfilm or Disney brought such a weapon to the screen. Derived from the traditional lightsaber, the lightsaber is used exclusively by people receptive to the Force, mainly people close to the dark side of the Force, such as the Dark Lady of the Sith, as well as the Nightsister Silri.

Disney probably didn’t expect this kind of reaction. The firm will have the difficult task of attracting an already frustrated public by the latest series like The Book of Boba Fett, Obi-Wan Kenobi, or to a lesser extent,Ahsoka. Will she succeed? Answer on June 9 on Disney+.
