Virginie Guillon is a big regular at signing sessions. A great reader for many years, this professional nurse and resident of Anet (Eure-et-Loir) has the habit of going to trade fairs and conferences to meet her favorite authors.

Saturday May 4, 2024, the roles will be reversed: Virginie Guillon will stop at the E.Leclerc in Vernon (Eure) to present his first bookentitled “Dying Can Wait”.

Good first returns

“I live in Eure-et-Loir but before that I was Euroized and I went several times to the E.Leclerc cultural space in Vernon. It was obvious to contact them because, for these first sessions, I wanted to start locally,” confides the author who will then travel to Yvelines (notably Rambouillet and Maurepas).

If the latter admits feeling “a little of apprehension “, the excitement of finally revealing his first book to the general public quickly took over: “I have already had some initial feedback which is positive from those close to me and from press services, that reassures me. »

It took two years of writing for the young self-taught author to produce this first book.

I have been writing since I was little but I had never taken the plunge of writing a novel. As I am a night nurse, I wrote for one or two hours during the day.

Virginie Guillon, nurse and author.

It was ultimately current events that led her to take the plunge: “I didn’t want to write for the sake of writing. One day I heard the story of a young girl from child welfare (CSA) who had been kidnapped to be a prostitute. I realized that the phenomenon was not that rare and I decided to use this real story as a basis to write my novel. »

With Dying can waitVirginie Guillon delivers a engaged thriller based on the investigation of a young woman into the disappearance of her best friend, kidnapped when she had just left her host family to join an ASE hotel.
