Descriptive text here

Fans of dark stories will be delighted. For its third edition, the Chinon book fair will give pride of place to “crime scene(s)” in literature.

The author of successful historical detective novels (and honorary president of the show), Éric Fouassier, will come to preview the latest volume of the Office of Occult Affairs, a series which has already won over a million readers. Also expected are Danielle Thiéry (winner of the Quai des Orfèvres prize), Patrice Quélard and Robin Fischhoff (winners of the gendarmerie literary prize).

Cluedo-style game, exhibition, round table…

Several events will punctuate the weekend: Cluedo-style game, reconstruction of a crime scene by the police (Saturday only), demonstrations by the gendarmerie, exhibition on the Lemoine affair, round table, etc.

Nearly 70 authors from various genres (poetry, fantasy, science fiction, regionalism, etc.) will come to meet readers. That’s a little more than last year. “The show has gained a lot of notoriety, it has a good image”rejoices Jean-Paul Robert, president of L’encrier bleu, the association organizing the show.

The event is aimed at everyone, readers or not. Hence the plurality of activities offered. Last year, 1,200 visitors made the trip. The association hopes to do even better this weekend.

Chinon Book Fair, Saturday April 27 and Sunday April 28, 2024, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., at the Espace Rabelais. FREE ENTRANCE.
