Midwives. (Ph:Dr)

For more than 15 years, May 5 has been dedicated to one of the most beautiful professions in the world: it is World Midwife Day.

This profession has many facets and is still too little known to the general public.

This day is an opportunity to discover this profession of “giver of life”, pay tribute to the women (and men*) who practice it and show their importance within society.

The job of midwife

The ANSFL (National Association of Liberal Midwives) takes advantage of this special day to inform the general public about the richness of this profession, the necessary skills and the diversity in their daily activity: recognized as a medical profession, training requires 5 years of training. studies including one year of medicine.

The midwife monitors the pregnancy, monitors its progress and manages the delivery.

This profession, once reserved for women, is now mixed, although barely 300 men practice it.

Midwifery

Among the Greeks, this term designated the act of giving birth. Today, it is mainly used here by philosophers and has become the art of giving birth to minds.

Manage to get your student to state the result you want to achieve. Quite an art!

* male midwives are usually referred to as midwives
