General Roméo Dallaire signs his 4th book

Roméo Dallaire is a soldier, a humanist, a peace advocate and a former senator. Today, we welcome the author to better understand the approach behind his fourth literary work, “Peace – The Journey of a Warrior”. Deeply marked by his experiences, he has devoted his life to defending victims of wars and conflicts on a global scale.

To understand Roméo Dallaire’s military career, we have to go back to 1993. Sent by the UN with a civilian contract, he is stationed near the Ugandan border. At the time, Dallaire requested 5,000 UN troops, but received only 2,600, a force that quickly fell to 500. None of their Past experiences have not prepared Canadians what they were going to experience in Rwanda. In the space of 100 days, between April 6 and July 16, approximately 800,000 men, women and children were brutally massacred.
