Mohammed VI polytechnique University in collaboration with Casa Events & Animation and Foundation Foundation co-organized, from the 21 have May 23, 2025, The Smart City Roadshow & Expo, a traveling stage between Casablanca, Rabat and Benguerrier devoted to the digital transformation of and cities. This initiative is part of the dynamics of a controlled, thoughtful and prospective territorial transformation, in connection with disruptive technological changes, pressing ecological imperatives and increasing territorial inclusion requirements, on the horizon of the 2030 World Cup whose kingdom will be co-organizer with and Portugal.

The roadshow is thought of as a traveling forum, is based on an integrated approach combining knowledge production, technological innovation and sustainable partnerships. The objective is to converge environmental innovation, territorial intelligence, social inclusion, and public efficiency, to imagine, from the field, ways of living, managing and transforming African cities.

The initiative is part of the continuity of the main orientations expressed in the discourse of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may God assist him, from July 29, 2023, who to strengthen the resilience and sustainability of the territories. It also resonates with the advanced regionalization site, the Nations sustainable development objectives, in particular the SDG 11, relating to inclusive, safe, resilient and sustainable cities, as well as with the strategic framework of the declination of the recommendations of the new development model, the national strategy of Morocco Digital 2030, which place the efficient, inclusive and sustainable. Accelerated by technological innovations, including artificial intelligence and intelligent cities at the heart of the socio-economic development of our country.

The stage of the roadshow will be held in Casablanca, on May 21 and 22, 2025, as part of the 9ᵉ edition of Casablanca Smart City, a flagship event carried by Casablanca Events & Animation, a local development company mobilized around the attractiveness and sustainable transformation of the metropolis. The 2025 edition, under the theme “Smart Nexgen Cities: Innovate for a sustainable and inclusive metropolis”will highlight the challenges linked to intelligent mobility, the management of major sports infrastructure, as well as citizen participation and social inclusion in large metropolises – all structuring priorities in the wake of the CAN 2025 and the FIFA 2030 World Cup.

In this context, Casablanca Events & Animation deploys two major initiatives to encourage creativity, intelligence and the entrepreneurial spirit. The Casablanca Smart City Hackathon, a collective intelligence area where developers, designers, entrepreneurs and experts are invited to design concrete solutions to improve living-urban living. In parallel, the startup village, installed in the heart of the forum, will bring together for two days an emerging entrepreneurial ecosystem, offering a showcase to local shoots wishing to present their innovations to an audience composed of investors, institutional and leaders in the sector.

Under the theme “Shaping Innovative, Sustainable, and Secure Smart Cities”, Rabat Smart City will host the Global Summit Fiware on May 22 and 23 at the UM6P Rabat campus. Organized for the very first time outside the European , the Global Summit Fiware is an event organized by FIWARE Foundation, a non -profit organization which promotes the adoption of source standards for the development of intelligent cities internationally. This event, which elected the capital for its 11th edition, will bring together major international actors such as Telefonica, AWS, NEC Corporation, Mitsubishi Electronics, Red Hat, Al Madinah, Raseel, Libeliumainsi only representatives of countries of Africa, , North America, Latin America, the Mena and Asia region, smart cities of .

Exchanges will mainly focus on international open source and interoperability standards for intelligent cities, artificial intelligence applied to public governance, open digital architectures, urban cybersecurity as well as digital twins. Technical sessions will deepen key themes such as predictive management of resources and the use of data open in territorial policies.

The roadshow will end in Benguerir, on the UM6P campus, on the occasion of the African forum on smart cities. This presents itself as a time of exchange between African decision -makers, city practitioners and researchers on structural transformation dynamics. The discussions will focus in particular on the capacity of major infrastructure projects to leave a lasting inheritance in host cities, the conditions for inclusive territorial connectivity which promotes employability and entrepreneurship and on public-private-private-citoyen models in emerging urban systems. It will also be a question of positioning the university as a place of knowledge and innovation to think of urban resilience on the continent’s scale, in a renewed dialogue between technological innovation, social equity, environmental sustainability and national sovereignty.

Demonstrations will be organized on the campus, especially around innovative solutions deployed on the smart_campus@um6p based on tools of artificial intelligence and concepts of digital twins, cities and citizens increased to optimize cybersecurity, mobility, energy efficiency, water management, air quality, young people, Green City Mohammed VI, pilot project of excellence in terms of sustainable town planning. Presentations of student projects from school 1337 will illustrate the concrete uses of artificial intelligence and the Internet of objects at the service of urban issues. A hackathon around challenges linked to mobility, energy, Civic Tech and inclusion. The will benefit from post-event support through the UM6P incubation structures, as well as privileged access to financing systems.

The event of the Smart City Morocco Roadshow 2030 is carried by the UM6P, the prefecture of Benguerir, Casablanca Events & Animation, La Fiware Foundation, the Hassan II University of Casablanca as well as a network of actors including APEBI, Technopark, start-up incubators, technological companies as well as higher establishments and several academic partners, industrialists and civil society.
